The Machado de Castro National Museum (MNMC) has just been integrated into the area classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site of the University of Coimbra, Alta and Sofia. The decision was announced today in Baku, Azerbaijan, during the 43rd Session of the World Heritage Committee, which runs until 10 July.

The Palace of Schools at the University of Coimbra was the venue chosen by the Cistermúsica - Alcobaça Music Festival to host the SubRosa show by the Almada Dance Company.   With the aim of bringing the audience closer to classical music, “the festival seeks in 2019 to give some of the best examples of how thin the boundary between“ classical and popular ”can be, taking this principle as the guiding thread of programming,” the organization of the festival explains. .   The event takes place on July 12 at 9:30 pm and is free but subject to ticket collection (2 per person). The activity will end at the Bissaya Barreto House Museum, home of the patron Fernando Bissaya Barreto Rosa, whose connection to the UC is unquestionable.
